ELEV8 2018 Tycen Allan verbally commits to Davis & Elkins

TYCEN ALLAN

ELEV8 Senior PG Close Defender Tycen Allen has verbally committed to Davis and Elkins University. We talked with Tycen to celebrate and share his commitment. We encourage players and parents alike to read and learn from his story.

College Commitment: Davis and Elkins University

High School: Highwood High School, High River

Current Club Team: ELEV8 Elite 2018

On selecting Davis & Elkins:

I chose Davis and Elkins because it is a small school in a small community which isn’t going to be a big change from the small town I have grown up in, and the student to teacher ratio is low which I wanted to get the best education possible. The school is also in a great location the campus is built on a hill and in a forest, and I love the outdoors. The coaching staff and team was great, they were really interested in myself and what the next steps were.”

On training with ELEV8 Lacrosse:

“My time with ELEV8 was intense, educating, fulfilling, and rewarding.  It’s not for everyone, it’s a very intense training environment where all the coaches want and expect the most out of each player. [ELEV8 coaching staff places] importance on being a student and good person first, and the preparation for post-secondary life as a student athlete.”

On the selection process for potential schools:

Allan did his homework researching schools and settled on Universities that were a suitable fit and met the academic requirements to support his future career aspirations.  He shared as a priority, “[to] find a school that is academically a good fit somewhere I would be comfortable.” He plans to major in Environmental Science and graduate in 2022.

ELEV8 2018 Head Coach Geoff Snider on Tycen Allen:

“We’ve been fortunate to work with Tycen in many of our programs, including Elite Fall Travel Teams, EXPtc, Winter Training and Calgary Field for many years. Tycen is an incredibly hard working, coachable and driven young man.  Tycen’s leadership both on and off the field has played a major role in his success, we are incredibly proud of him and excited about his future as a student-athlete at Davis and Elkins.”
